Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's in Henderson will benefit CASA Foundation

HENDERSON, Nev. - March 26, 2019 - PRLog -- Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops will be giving away free ice cream from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 through Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day.

Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day traces back to 1979 in shops in 38 countries. Worldwide more than 1 million scoops will be given away. Free Cone Day starts on April 9 at the Sunset Station location on 1301 W. Sunset Road and The District at Green Valley Ranch scoop shop on 2225 Village Walk Drive in Henderson, flavors available like classic Cherry Garcia to new favorites like Wake & "No Bake" Cookie Dough Core. Ben & Jerry's first claim to fame, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, is now available in original and non-dairy versions, so there's something for everyone.

Donations will be accepted for the CASA Foundation at Henderson locations. CASA is a nonprofit group supporting children in foster care.

The District at Green Valley Ranch location will also have balloon artists and face painters.

Many Las Vegas entertainers and community leaders will serve ice cream at the District location and the shops will accept donations for the CASA Foundation, an all-volunteer program that lets people train to become court-appointed special advocates, or CASAs, for children in foster care.

Georges and Joyce Maalouf, who own several Ben & Jerry's locations in southern Nevada, are long-time supporters of the CASA Foundation.

"Free cone day gives us the opportunity to raise awareness for the work CASA does for some of the most vulnerable children in our community," said Georges Maalouf. "We honor the volunteers who give their love and support to the children in our community."

Donations go directly to support children in care by helping to pay for tutoring and a myriad of other needs.

In addition to cash donations for CASA, checks may be dropped off payable to CASA Foundation and credit cards will also be accepted on April 9.
