On this week's episode, actress and advocate for people with disabilities Teal Sherer will discuss her experience with jumpstarting her acting career while having a physical disability and using her platform to support the inclusion of performers with disabilities. At the age of 14, on the way to a Labor Day fireworks show, Teal was involved in an automobile accident. She suffered injuries to her back which left her paraplegic. Teal regained her independence and mobility through undergoing therapy at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Teal went on to start a successful acting career and is best known for her portrayal of Venom in the web series The Guild. Today, Teal is a member of Full Radius Dance and also plays herself in her own web series "My Gimpy Life." Teal works to spread awareness on the importance including performers with disabilities in the entertainment industry.
Do you struggle with pushing through the obstacles in your life and doing what it takes to reach your goals? Are you unsure about the next steps to reach your aspirations?
