AUSTIN, Texas - March 21, 2019 - PRLog -- Pandamoon Publishing is thrilled to announce the successful negotiation for feature film rights with UK-based Mon Reve Productions for JUGGLING KITTENS, author Matt Coleman's gritty Southern noir fusion of crime/mystery/suspense/thriller and dark humor.

"I've loved JUGGLING KITTENS from the first time I read the manuscript.  Bringing characters like Ellis Mazer and The Drew to life on the silver screen will afford millions the opportunity to meet Matt Coleman's quirky ensemble of characters and enjoy his singular style of storytelling," said Zara Kramer, Publisher of Pandamoon Publishing.

JUGGLING KITTENS follows Ellis Mazer, a soon-to-be father and first-year English teacher, who is a directionless twenty-something entering the directionless 2000-somethings. When Spencer—trailer trash with more ring worms than friends—stops coming to school, Ellis discovers that he may be the only person who even notices, much less cares.

What begins as a good-natured attempt to deliver some make-up work tumbles headlong into a quest deep into hillbilly noir to verify that there is still some good in what appears to be a crumbling world.

Partnered with The Drew—full-time assistant principal, part-time private detective—the pair explore the shadows and calluses of backwoods Arkansas to discover that Spencer's disappearance is directly linked to the suspected murder of a little girl. And it doesn't much feel like anyone wants the truth of what happened to either kid to emerge. In order to believe in his ability to be a husband or father, for some reason, Ellis knows he must find Spencer.

"As a writer, Matt has a solid radar for the cinematics. He weaves JUGGLING KITTENS together with an effortless ease of purpose, and I was instantly attracted to the idea of making it into a film. I brought it to Paul who was immediately onboard. Thematically, it's all there. It has great light and shade, and the novel's setting is very close to my heart," said Shane Taylor of Mon Reve Productions.

"Matt's combination of character—a first time school teacher having to assume the role of a Raymond Chandler detective—and place—the frayed around the edges of an Arkansas nowhere town, is such a great combination.  It's perfect for a film adaptation—funny, suspenseful and modern noir at its best," said Paul Cotter, Mon Reve Productions.

"The idea of your book being the source material for a film is every writer's dream. But when you get closer to the reality, you realize that it can't just be any film, any team. So, the fact that Shane and Paul are the ones making this happen is the most exciting aspect of this. They worked together on a film called BOMBER a few years back, and the sentimentality of that film—the way they were able to blend comedy and drama in BOMBER—fills me with confidence for what they'll do with JUGGLING KITTENS. I couldn't go out and pick a better team," said Matt Coleman, author.
