P4A's Sophie Schmitz to present gene therapy sessions at AMCP 2019

LONDON - March 21, 2019 - PRLog -- Sophie Schmitz, Managing Partner of Partners4Access is to lead two educational sessions on gene therapy at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP)'s annual meeting between March 25-28, 2019.

The event will take place at The San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.

Under the AMCP's Specialty Connect series, Schmitz will be presenting a detailed introduction to the scientific and clinical aspects of gene therapy on March 25 between 1:15pm -2:15pm titled, "Introduction to Gene Therapy: Key Terms, Concepts, and International Perspectives". The key concepts will include investigational gene therapy strategies and how they may influence manifestations of various diseases; comparison of various types of vectors used in the delivery of gene therapy and notes from international experiences of gene therapies.

In addition, on March 26 between 10 am -11:15 am, Schmitz will also be speaking on "Managing Access for Gene Therapy: Learnings from an International Perspective". The aim of the session is to provide an overview of key financing and payment models in gene therapy globally, and stakeholder experiences in adopting them. Commercial learnings and gene therapy strategies that could be beneficial in the United States will also be covered.
