On this week's episode, community activist and HIV educator Teresa Sullivan will discuss living with HIV, overcoming other personal and health care challenges, and using her experience to help others. 24 years ago, Teresa was diagnosed with HIV. During the time of her diagnosis, Teresa was in an abusive relationship with a partner who filed criminal charges when she tried to leave, resulting in her incarceration. Teresa devoted her life to becoming a leader and advocate for the HIV movement. Today, Teresa is the Vice Chair of the board of directors for National Positive Women's Network–USA and a senior member of the Philadelphia Affiliated chapter. She is also a graduate fellow of the Black AIDS Institute. Teresa trains other people living with HIV/AIDS in how to begin a dialogue about Treatment as Prevention in their own communities.
