By: The Gobi Desert Cup
Through their annual event, The Gobi Desert Cup, riders and sponsors provide a sustainable wage for our 90% local Mongolian staff to support their families, pay for schooling, and provide proper nutrition and veterinary attention for their horses. The foundation provides the most competitive wage of any Mongolian event and the unique endurance race brings global attention to this dwindling lifestyle.
Funds from sponsorships and donations will be directly used to expand and enhance the lives of the Mongolian nomad and their horses by providing a sustainable income; training, feeding, and conditioning horses that do not earn money through traditional horse racing; and, introduce international horse welfare and veterinary standards to a third-world country.
The Mongolian Horse and Nomad Foundation relies on support of generous donors to ensure the success of these nomads to remain in the countryside as they have since the times of Genghis Khan.
