Brightwater Homes volunteers made needed improvements to several Our House staff offices and two bathrooms. Work included replacing old carpet tiles with new ones, painting, and more. The work performed over the course of this Care Day, valued at $3,166, was provided free-of-charge for Our House, thanks to generous donations of supplies from Sherwin-Williams and the Atlanta Community Tool Bank, and the work of the Brightwater Homes volunteers. This was Brightwater Homes fourth HomeAid Care Day since 2015.
"The difference that our volunteers make at shelter facilities during Care Days may sometimes seem small and somewhat insignificant, but that couldn't be further from the truth," said Karen McLane, HomeAid Director of Community Outreach. "The transformation, no matter the size, means not only that we bring updates to well-worn facilities; it allows shelter resources to continue to be used directly for the people they serve."
