B.E. Computer Engineering

This program is designed to offer elective focus as soon as student clears semester IV of the program. Student has to choose EF (Elective Focus) out of the following five choices and shall continue with this group till his study at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.

Choices are:

• High Performance Computing
• Computer Animation and Gaming
• Machine Learning and Data Analytics
• Information and Cyber Security
• Software Engineering
• Mathematics and Computing

Each EF should have cap of 300 students Max. Prioritization into a particular EF stream shall be according to the market demand. Choice should be attributed based on the second year CGPA matched with his/her choice.

B.E. Mechanical Engineering (Production)

Modern manufacturing industry has the need to innovate, design, setup and maintain state of the art production facilities which are globally competitive. Recognizing the need of the hour to develop India into a world class manufacturing hub the department of Mechanical Engineering offers an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering (Production). The program has been envisaged to build on the strong base in the traditional mechanical engineering by adding a strong flavour of courses in production and manufacturing engineering. The objective of this initiative is to produce professional engineers who can manage production and manufacturing setups and implement policies and techniques capable of producing high quality, competitive and diverse products suitable for the national and international markets. The department has faculty and laboratory facilities which are comparable to the best in the country in this area. The department has a strong base in the traditional manufacturing, production and industrial engineering fields along with advanced technologies using non-traditional Manufacturing Processes, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer-Aided-Design and Analysis and Computer-Aided-Manufacturing which will give a distinct edge to the graduating students in the industry.

International Engineering Program

A credit transfer International Engineering Programme (IEP) which enables students admitted to undergraduate engineering programmes at Thapar University (TU) the opportunity to study at Ireland's leading university, Trinity College Dublin. The programme provides an opportunity for engineering undergraduates to secure a degree from Trinity, consistently ranked as Ireland's top universities and within the top 1% of universities worldwide.Drawing on the expertise of the School of Engineering and the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity, this programme focuses on delivering a research-inspired, outcome-based educational experience to students. Eligible students will pursue the first two years of their course in India before transferring to Ireland for years 3 and 4 of the degree programmes, subject to achieving the required grades. Additionally, qualified students can apply to pursue a Masters (MAI) qualification by completing one further year at Trinity.

Dual Degree Program(B.E.-MBA)

Admission under this program shall be made on the basis of merit of JEE(Main)/10+2 PCM score.The Dual-Degree BE-MBA program will be of 5-years duration. The fee will be charged as prescribed for BE and MBA programs. There shall be no exit option at the end of 4th year. There shall be no compromise on the total credits of two programs taken individually.Few courses of BE-MBA will be offered in summer semesters.In case of any seat remaining vacant in the Dual-Degree BE-MBA program or the International Engineering program, the same seats shall be filled in the respective discipline of UG (4-year program)

Lateral Entry Admission

Lateral Entry admission to B.E.programme for diploma holders at the 2nd year (3rd Semester) level will be made through Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET) to be conducted by Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
