United Premier Soccer League Announces Georgia Expansion with Forest Rovers FC
Clarkesville (Ga.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL for Spring Season
Based in Clarkesville (Ga.), Forest Rovers FC will begin play in the UPSL Southeast Conference Atlanta Caribbean Division, and will play its UPSL home games at South Gwinnett Park (2015 McGee Rd., Snellville, GA 30078) in compliance with UPSL Minimum Standards.
United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "We are pleased to welcome Forest Rovers Football Club to the United Premier Soccer League. The UPSL's Atlanta Caribbean Division is a great example of localized competition working in coordination with a national platform, and Forest Rovers FC will step in and provide more depth to that already stacked competition. Co-Owners Eddie Alvarado and Joel Mabin have a shared passion for their club, and we wish them well in preparation for their first UPSL season."
Eddie Alvarado and Joel Mabin are Co-Owners of Forest Rovers Football Club.
Alvarado, 23, grew up in Clarkesville (Ga.) and was a two-year starting goalkeeper at Mt. Airy (Ga.)'s Habersham Central High School. A state licensed electrician, Alvarado is listed on Forest Rovers FC's roster as a goalkeeper.
Forest Rovers FC Co-Owner Eddie Alvarado said, "We wanted the experience of playing at the Pro Development level instead of playing locally and seeing the same people every-other game. We want to show off some young talents that we have and help them step up a level as well. The Atlanta Caribbean League is well known in Northern Georgia, and now it's affiliation with the UPSL makes it even more prestigious. We're excited to get started."
Mabin will serve as General Manager of Forest Rovers FC. A native of Mexico, Mabin is an international entrepreneur.
Forest Rovers FC soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.
