Would you like to ski to work?
If you love skiing and the healthy outdoor mountain life, then how about swapping the daily grind to run your own restaurant on the ski slopes in the Italian alps?
Have you dreamed of giving up the daily grind and enjoying a life in the Italian Alps? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you. A beautiful alpine lodge restaurant with 70 seats plus additional space on the sunny terraces outside for tables and deckchairs for soaking up the winter sun. This lodge is situated in the middle of one of the longest runs in Aprica and is ideally placed to serve skiers coffees, lunches, snacks and aperitivi. Clients can ski right to your door and sit outside and enjoy the panoramic views whilst dining, or warm themselves by the characteristic stone fireplace in the depths of winter. Potential to open of an evening.
The price covers the building itself plus the fixtures and fittings, including a very well-equipped kitchen and all the restaurant fittings. The 'baita' was fully renovated approximately 6 years ago in a traditional mountain style with exposed wooden beams and stone fireplaces and is around 120 sqm per floor. Externally there is a plot of around 1000 sqm. It offers the possibility of a lucrative business for the right owner. Alternatively a purchaser may wish to consider conversion to a single family home, or a bed and breakfast, subject to necessary consents.
The restaurant is located at the intersection of a black and blue run and has significant passing trade each day. It can be reached on skis, on foot, by car (outside the ski-season) or by snowmobile.
Aprica has 50 km of ski slopes open from November through to May. It is 2 hours from Milan and 90 minutes from Bergamo airport. Switzerland is a 15 minute drive and St Moritz is an hour by car. During the ski season there are many international tourists with an abundance of Italians at weekends. It is also a popular resort in the summer months of July and August when the ski lifts also operate. Aprica is at 1200 metres above sea level and in a mountain pass between the Valtellina valley with its world famous wines and the Valcamonica with the Tonale ski resort. Lake Como is easily accessible in an hour.
