Follow on Google News | Mercury Retrograde Celebrated by Tristate Astrologers on International Astrology Day 2019Four young astrology professionals in conversation about navigating the increasingly popular yet misunderstood Mercury Retrograde periods
Astrology is increasingly on the rise, seemingly due to strong millennial interest worldwide and otherwise fueled by social media. From Hong Kong to Harlem, Cape Town to Coney Island, Sydney to StuyTown, astrologers are finding themselves busier and busier consulting, teaching, writing, and more about this ancient practice spanning - some say language - with others. Yet too few of the dozens, if not hundreds, of astrologers in this tristate area appear on local events calendars. Said calendars are also absent the enormous appetite for quality astrological content and community. To address some of that, astrologers Mikolaj Wilk and Demetrius Bagley are debuting Astrology Brooklyn – a monthly event series featuring astrologers from near and far – this Spring. "My producing partner Mikolaj and I are quite excited about amplifying emerging talents, celebrating local astrologers, plus welcoming visiting voices from afar. To market various astrologer colleagues to the many budding and growing number of Greater NYC's astro enthusiasts is thrilling! Astrology – when understood – is such an incredible subject and tool for greater living, and needs far more positioning as such," offers astrologer-producer Demetrius Bagley, a long-time NYC astrology community volunteer and co-creator of Astrology Brooklyn. About International Astrology Day In 1993, Association for Astrological Networking (AFAN) founded International Astrology Day (IAD), an outgrowth of Astrology Awareness Weekend. It's celebrated on the first full day of Aries (aka Spring in the Northern Hemisphere). This new holiday was brought into being with the hope it would expand networking opportunities and promote positive aspects of astrology both within the astrology community and to the public at large.
