Merit Badge 'Missing' for 20 years This is the fourth clinic USofAZ has sponsored for the BSA in Arizona. The clinics were started one year ago to celebrate the start of National Surveyors Week in 2018. According to local BSA troop leaders, previous to that occasion, there has not been a Survey Merit Badge given out in the State of Arizona for 20 years. This week's event, along with the three others given in Goodyear, Payson & Tucson over the past twelve months have all been sell-outs. Over sixty scouts have received this Merit Badge in the past year and it is expected that 24 more will complete the clinic and receive the badge this Sunday. After the clinic is complete, the scouts are invited to participate in USofAZ's annual sunset hike to the Initial Point, located just east of Phoenix International Raceway.
