Cancer University Welcomes New Member To Advocate Board
Cancer U is thrilled Prostate Patient Advocate Tom Hulsey is joining its Patient & Caregiver Advocate Board
Initially, Cancer U was having trouble recruiting men to its PCAB even though men are more likely to get cancer than women in the United States. CEO and Co-Founder Andrea Wilson Woods states, "I wasn't sure if it was an issue of men being less likely to speak up about their experience with cancer. But then I remembered Tom. I know him from the DoD Peer Review Cancer Program. He works tirelessly to raise awareness of prostate cancer. I wanted him to be the face of prostate cancer for Cancer U."
Tom says, "My journey has created a passion in me to help others battle cancer, including those close to cancer victims. I feel fortunate to have a mission to help others, to help them through the battles I survived."
About Tom Hulsey
Tom has turned his life's focus to cancer education and advocacy. He is a Board Member of ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer, a Peer Reviewer and Mentor for the Prostate Cancer Research Program of the Department of Defense's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs and a previous volunteer at the Baylor Scott & White Cancer Health & Wellness Center. Tom wrote The Winning Mindset That Saved My Life. Tom applies the skills and attitudes needed to compete in an IRONMAN to life's struggles. He tells a great story of going from an arrogant athlete absorbed with training, competition, and his health to a man devoted to helping and inspiring others. Best of all, 100% of the net proceeds are being donated to cancer research. The book is rated 5 out of 5 Stars on Amazon. Visit https://tomhulsey.com/
