Both anglers accumulated the most points at the end of the year for the 23 species of fish that the club tracks. All fish are turned into designated weigh stations throughout the year and each month the data is gathered and totaled to track the progress. This year the club awarded 19 species winners with club jackets, shirts or gift certificates (winners choice).
The purpose of the Year Long Tournament is to allow club members the opportunity to be acknowledged for their fishing skills and the respect of the club members for their accomplishments. It also determines the Lady Angler of the Year and Male Angler of the Year. The tournament ran from January 1, 2018 until December 31, 2018.
The two winners received their choice of a "Columbia" style shirt, club jacket, or club sponsor gift certificate. This year there were over 108 anglers participate in the tournament with 588 fish turned officially.
"This year, we had more new anglers competing in the Year Long Tournament which shows how the sport of fishing is expanding within the club and throughout the community," said Club President Captain Chuck Gleichman.
