ROSEMEAD, Calif. - March 7, 2019 - PRLog -- Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) will host its annual Black and Gold Gala, "An Evening Under the Stars," on the school's campus on Saturday, April 6, at 6 p.m. Gala guests will dine and bid on auction items, with all proceeds benefiting Bosco Tech's tuition assistance program.

The event will honor noted Bosco Tech leaders Mr. Terence deSousa and Monsignor Jeremiah Murphy, who will be recognized posthumously. Both honorees have greatly contributed to the school's long-term success. An award-winning instructor, Mr. deSousa taught mathematics to generations of Tech students during his 43-year tenure, while Monsignor Murphy served as a dedicated board member for 41 years. In addition to his extensive ministerial and philanthropic work throughout the Los Angeles area, the monsignor served as Superintendent of High Schools and Colleges for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

"We are both honored and humbled to recognize Mr. deSousa and Monsignor Murphy who have meant so much to Bosco Tech," said Memo Gutierrez, Bosco Tech Vice President of Administration and Development. "Their boundless dedication and commitment to the school and its students have had a positive and lasting impact. Our gala is the perfect opportunity to honor them, while celebrating what the Tech has meant to the lives of so many young people and their families."

Gala tickets, which are $100 per person until April 1 and $125 after that date, can be purchased by contacting Viki Battaglia, Director of Alumni Relations and Special Events, at vbattaglia@boscotech.edu or (626) 940-2070. Several levels of gala sponsorship opportunities are available.
