BEDMINSTER, N.J. - March 6, 2019 - PRLog -- This spring the work of several of The Center for Contemporary Art's
("The Center") accomplished ceramics faculty, students and volunteers can be been seen in exhibitions, juried competitions and stores across New Jersey and beyond. Faculty member John Reinking (Pittstown) creates one-of-a-kind functional and sculptural ceramics focusing on wood and soda firings. His work will be included in "Small Favors" at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA. Faculty member Helen Marie Farrant (Lebanon) makes highly detailed functional and non-functional ceramics united by her desire to create an esthetic that unifies detail into a cohesive whole. Her work will be included in "Art of Clay" at the North Carolina Pottery Center.

Student Larry Quirk (Plainfield) is curating, "What Clay Can Be" at the Watchung Arts Center in April. Naomi Nierenberg (Somerset) had a piece selected for the juried exhibition, "Arborescence," at the Hamilton Street Gallery in Bound Brook, and Nancy Katz's (Stony Brook, NY) work is included in an exhibition at Bnai Or in Morristown. Both Nierenberg and Katz have pieces in The Center's Members' Juried Exhibition on view at the Bernardsville Public Library until March 28.

The ceramics program is supported by of a team of dedicated volunteers, all artists in their own right. Kathryn Davis (Piscataway) was selected to participate in the Spring Craft Morristown, and ceramic tableware made by Keiko Inouye (Bridgewater) will be available for purchase at Whole Foods in Chelsea, NY in addition to the current location in Bridgewater, N.J.

The Center for Contemporary Art offers year-round ceramics classes for children and adults at all levels of expertise and popular half-day children's ceramics summer camps for three age groups. Registration is underway for the both spring and summer sessions of classes, with spring classes beginning in early April.
