Nasa/Space Shuttle Engineer Joe Hernandez biography in the works

LOS ANGELES - March 3, 2019 - PRLog -- One of the most important Engineers of modern times was born in Lares, Puerto Rico.  You've never heard of him, but all thats about to change according to his daughter, Gigi.  A new blog featuring weekly entries that will start with his life born in Lares Puerto Rico to a farming family, and how he navigated his way onto the top of the Engineering World.

This work is important for many reasons, firstly to acknowledge my father's contribution to the World, to encourage all the girls and boys with a role model who came from a farm to the top of the engineering World, and for the achievements of Hispanics Worldwide.  "When I'm at Pasadena City College I look at the hopeful faces of the young Stem students and I want to give them hope that if you work hard enough and if you put enough energy into this field, you can make it."

My father worked on the Space Shuttle, fighter jets, satellites, boeing, anti aircraft, anti anti aircraft, and more.  Unless Nasa stops me, I'm going ahead full steam.  Allowing government agencies to obfuscate achievements of minorities meanwhile showering accolades of others who are not minorities is an injustice in itself.

For my family, for my country, for all the hard working boys and girls who need a role model.  "When I taught Kindergarten at Lockwood Elementary School my grandmother passed away, my father unannounced came to school for support.  If you needed a friend, my father was a real and true friend.  I would tell my class what my father did for a living, of course he was retired at that time.  I hoped that they would feel Science and Engineering were something they could aspire to, having met a hispanic engineer, who spoke their language, who created out of thin air, the Space Shuttle with his team.
