NEW YORK - March 3, 2019 - PRLog -- As the March 11 anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear disaster approaches, Col. Walter T. Richmond - author of "FUKUSHIMA 311: Is the enduring aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear disaster killing off the Earth?" - again expressed concern about the decision to hold the 2020 Olympics in Japan and the more recent plan to play Olympic baseball and softball at a Fukushima stadium.

"It hasn't been a decade since one of the worst nuclear disasters ever, and it's far from over, yet the official version is that 'ALL IS OKAY,'" remarked Richmond. "With so much riding on the success of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, do you really think anyone wants to rock that boat? I get it. But what if everything isn't 'fine' and health threats do exist as claimed? When we did our research for the book," Richmond added, "one thing was consistent - misinformation, fact-bending, and a lack of transparency bordering on the obscene. So excuse me for being skeptical, but what if the official assurances that the radiation dangers have been abated turn out to be rooted more in marketing and than science?"

Asked to clarify his concerns, Richmond explained, "It can take years for health complications from nuclear radiation exposure to manifest. We know that to this day Japanese citizens using Geiger counters are registering dangerous radioactive readings in areas that are claimed to be clear. That's a big concern." Richmond noted that, "Now that the Japanese Olympic Committee President is being investigated for a possible bribery scandal to get the Olympics to be held in Japan, I'd double down on checking any and all claims of successful 'nuclear radioactive waste' abatement. We're talking about the health of thousands of athletes and visitors potentially at risk."

In light of many disturbing questions, Richmond is calling for a global team of impartial and experienced nuclear scientists and medical doctors to be allowed to check out the areas in and around the Olympic facilities. He concluded with a warning that "before traveling to Japan and Fukushima for the 2020 Olympics, get an honest grip on the risks to your health. Remember, radiation poisoning is cumulative, can take years to manifest, and doesn't always affect everyone equally. Are you willing to expose yourself and your loved ones without thoroughly understanding the actual facts?"
