Follow on Google News | Columbus Bands Come Together For Unique AlbumThe C-Side set to showcase camaraderie in Columbus music scene
By: Groove U Each Columbus act recorded a cover of another local artist in a style unique to them. You'll be able to catch Zoo Trippin's energetic cover of "Hurricane" by Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons and 90'S KIDS synth-driven cover of "Money" by The Orphan The Poet. The C-Side displays a wide variety of genres and sounds to appeal to everyone's music tastes. The project has also included a video series showcasing these Columbus musicians and their positive thoughts on the growing music scene. "We're thrilled to be a part of The C-Side. The bands in our city can be very supportive of each other but it is a large, diverse musical scene. Projects like The C-Side help break down some of those barriers while shining a light on all of the great talent and the musical legacy we have here in Columbus," says Andy Van Curin from PronToh. The C-Side was created by four GROOVE U students in the fall of 2018. Along with a vinyl album, the project has developed a YouTube series showcasing local musicians and their experiences in the budding music scene. The students were given access to the program's facilities to record the album and video series themselves. The goal of the project is to show off the camaraderie within the Columbus music scene and the artist-to-artist support system in the city. The C-Side will come to an end with a vinyl album release and a party to celebrate. The release and the party will occur at Craft & Vinyl on April 25th at 7:00 PM.
