By: Pecan Tree Publishing First Lady Davenport is not the only preacher's wife stirring up controversy in the new book from Freeman Thomas Books, a Pecan Tree Publishing Imprint. The first lady introduced in "The Podium" by Author Stephanie Outten is one of nine women with drama on top of drama in their lives. WHEN I KILL, JESUS CAN HAVE HIM brings the fiction storytelling skills of nine authors from Florida, Virginia and North Carolina to the forefront in this first ladies gone wild romp. Publisher and Contributing Author E. Claudette Freeman says, "A wonderful woman that I know, who happens to be a Pastor's wife (or as they are known First Lady), posted jokingly on social media about how she and her husband always have interesting disagreements. Then she quipped, but she loves him, so she'll keep him – at least until she kills him and then Jesus can have him. I thought – we have to publish THAT book." From there the title was born and the authors, including a current and former first lady – created tales of scandalous, murderous, and treacherous first ladies! Freeman says the book picks up where reality TV leaves off. Aspiring author and urban fiction fan Monique Jackson quips, "This book was thought provoking!!! A ride on a rollercoaster! The collection features short fiction around stories of gossiping, theft, black magic, former wives, mistresses and dark secrets and former lives. WHEN I KILL HIM, JESUS CAN HAVE HIM includes work from: Freeman (Precious Redemption); Shanier Adderley Souffrant (Secretly Broken: Finding Pieces); Stephanie Outten (Is This The Way to Joy); Craig Stafford (Nine Thought Paths to Happiness); LaShawn Hewlett-Wilson (Forbidden Fruit); Playwright Margarette Joyner (Message from a Slave); Toni Seaton; Yolanda Davis-McCullough; The authors do expect some flack around some of the storylines and are ready for some strong push back in some circles where pastors' wives are prominent. Contributing Author Yolanda Davis-McCullough – a pastor's daughter and wife says in spite of that she hopes readers walk away with this: "None of us are perfect. God can use anyone to be a light to others. It is important for everyone to understand (clergy and those that they serve) that we all fall short daily. The goal is that Today we should do better than we did yesterday. And I want them to be encouraged, because our past does not dictate how we are loved by God or how we should be loved by others." WHEN I KILL HIM, JESUS CAN HAVE HIM will be released March 23, 2019, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Courtyard by Marriott-West Miramar, Florida during a wine and sweets soiree.
