International Vice President, Toastmasters International named District Conference Keynote Speaker
Richard E. Peck, First International Vice President will deliver the keynote address at the Annual District Conference scheduled for April 12-14 in Mississauga

The Annual Conference, themed "Members Matter" will attract Toastmasters members and guests from Southern, Central and Northern Ontario. Peck, with a team of professional facilitators in the district, will share their wealth of experience in leadership and communication skills, delivering educational workshops and presentations.
Peck, a native of Seymour, CT is a certified Project Management Professional and holds an MBA with over 30 years of experience handling multi-million dollar projects in the Telecommunications Industry and other projects in non-for profit organizations in the United States.
He joined Toastmasters in 2006 where he held a number of high-profile positions, from the club level up to his current role as First International Vice President, Toastmasters International for the 2018-2019 Toastmasters year. He also holds the Distinguished Toastmaster designation — the highest level of educational achievement in Toastmasters.
As an officer of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Peck is a "working ambassador" for the organization. "To me, Toastmasters is about making a positive, life-changing impact on individuals throughout the world.", he says.
Kristina Johnston, District 86 Director and Distinguished Toastmaster will host the event. "This year's conference is going to be very exciting as it focuses on current and potential members," says Johnston. "We want participants to be more confident and empowered to make an impact in their lives and others in their community"
Conference attendees will listen to inspirational speeches during the District Finals of the Evaluation and International Speech Contests. Ten finalists will compete for honors in both contests. The Winner of the International Speech Contest at the District level contest will represent the district at the 2019 Region 6 Quarter Finals, with this winner moving on to the World Championship of Public Speaking Contest taking place in Denver, CO, USA in August 2019.
