The shop also serves as a gallery and gift shop for local artists to get their wares in front of an audience, including paintings, costume jewelry, digitally created art, photography, and more. Kleinhelter expects that side of the business to take off as they begin hosting gallery events this year; the first of which will serve as the studio's first anniversary celebration. "It was tough to choose what our first [gallery] event was going to be," states Rikki Little, gallery manager. "I debated with myself for weeks but then the president made my decision when the government shutdown went into effect. One of our consignment artists is a Coast Guardsman with four kids and he worked for no pay for three weeks…I knew we needed to use our platform to try to help bridge that pay gap so I contacted Charlie [Zacherl] and set it up!" "Into the Inky Depths" with C.E. Zacherl will take place on Saturday, March 9th at Brother Raven's Tattoo & Art Emporium. The reception begins at 7 p.m., with artist remarks at 8, and will close at 10. C.E. will be drawing live throughout the event. Details can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/ End
