-- South Georgia serves as the backdrop for one a new production. Mike Designs LLC and Supremacy Films have partnered to bring the production, "Freeman Hospitality"
, to Albany, Georgia. The production will be shot February 18-21, 2019. The production takes place in 2055, after America is recovering from a second civil war. A family run private security company escorts a foreign journalist into the war-torn badlands of South Georgia to interview a local warlord.
is written and directed by Mike Cooke. "Freeman Hospitality really stands out when it rises above its Western TV format, and it becomes a critique on the "American Dream" 2055 is painted with pointed clues on how we got here from 2019. A catastrophe of our own making. America's over indulgence in fossil fuels, heightened political climate, and our lax prosecution laws for ﬁnancial crimes. They all created the perfect storm of how the most powerful country in the world could fall so far, and how the people who live there are still surviving. This all shown to you through the lens of the Freeman's, an entrepreneurial black family and their skills as a private security company", says Cooke.About the Director
Cooke got his start in the ever-changing environment of Television and Music videos while living in Atlanta, Georgia. There, he fell in love with moving pictures and since then spends most of his waking moments with a camera to his eye. Currently, as a Director and Cinematographer, Michael's work has taken him across the country and around the world to work. His directorial debut, Across the Tracks, has won multiple awards, including an African Movie Academy Award for Best Diaspora Short Film & B est Short Film at UK's Music Video and Screen Awards.
He was recently added to the director roster for House of Narrative, a New York-based content production studio owned by producer Will Packer. He's currently developing the script for his feature narrative debut WALLED GARDENS, a character driven drama that follows an African-American public school teacher striving to make an impact at one of the lowest performing high schools in Georgia.
