New York Theater Festival Presents: Limited Engagement, a Comedy About Death

Dedicated with Love to the LGBTQ Community and the Ongoing Fight Against A.I.D.S.

NEW YORK - Feb. 14, 2019 - PRLog -- This Valentine's Day, the New York Theater Festival (Winterfest) and the cast of Limited Engagement invite the public to reflect on what love truly means. Premiering at The Hudson Theater Guild on February 18th is an intense character study that explores the devastating effects of HIV/A.I.D.S. in today's generation.  Young adults and teens have now grown up without the eminent threat of death from HIV & A.I.D.S., leading many to woefully believe that wonder drugs and pharmaceuticals such as: "PREP" and "The Cocktail" will protect them from infection. This tragic trend reduces decades of awareness and safe sex practices, leaving over 20,000 people in the LGBTQ community to cope with new infections each year. In an effort to highlight the importance of safer sex, and to continue public awareness, Limited Engagement challenges everyone to celebrate love in all its forms. This timely theater production invites the audience to explore how relationships are formed, repaired or irrevocably broken.

With illness itself taking a backseat in a modern dark comedy production, this cast, and script is a departure from traditional portraits. Instead the story digs deeper into the lives around those afflicted, who often go unnoticed but are forever altered by the disease's path. To continue the fight, a portion of every ticket sale will go to Broadway Cares: Equity Fights A.I.D.S. The production is set to stage, as a "show-within-a-show" with characters billed as a famed Broadway director, who is beloved, manipulative, arrogant, and dying. The production set to "limited time," follows a group of close and meaning friends that are gathered to repair their tumultuous relationships, make amends, and resolve bitter regrets!

Featured in the ensemble cast are famed actor Thomas Cambridge, who plays Tommy a successful Broadway Director and all around vile human being. Cambridge won his first acting award after being cast in the lead role of a short film submitted to the 2014 48-Hour Film Project and is currently shooting scenes for the mob comedy feature film Good Friday. Drew Hanley, the noted Versace campaign model featured on SNL and Oxygen's STRUT is making his theater debut as Harry - a successful actor and Tommy's ex-lover. They are set to match with Chad Tyler, a veteran actor with more than twenty years of stage, film, and industrial credits across the eastern coast. Tyler was recently featured on the finale of Netflix's House of Cards and HBO's K Street, and VEEP. Tyler is a proud member of the SAG LGBT Committee and his character Mark is Tommy's brother. Rouding out this strong cast is Lisa Rochlin, who personifies Linda - an award-winning Broadway actress, Tommy's ex-wife, and Mark's current wife. Rochin brings more than fifteen years of strong theater experience to this New York City scene. Her film and television credits include: With Love by Courtney Beck, and Peace and Quiet by Whitney Simon.
