The City Of Highland Awards Contract To Hernandez, Kroone & Associates, Inc. Its 3rd/5th Street Cor

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Feb. 12, 2019 - PRLog -- On November 17, 2018, Hernandez Kroone and Associates, (HKA), entered into a three-year contract to provide professional engineering services to the City of Highland and its economic partners, for 2.1 miles of traffic and infrastructure improvements on four major corridors within the City.

Construction costs for the project, known as the 3^rd Street / 5^th Street Corridors Improvement, are estimated to be $4.4M. The City and its partners have endeavored to obtain funding for this project for several years. Ultimately funding was established through federal grants from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Agency. The improvements through these corridors are essential to the continued growth and economic development at the former Norton Air Force Base and within the region.

"HKA has performed extensive engineering, traffic studies and survey work in this region, including the airport, for over thirty years, and we are excited to get started on these much-needed improvements," said Anne Hernandez, PE, and Principal of HKA.

Specific services HKA will provide include overall project management, complete Right-of-way engineering, construction management, and inspection, surveying and staking, utility coordination and more. "This is a project that is close to our home office and close to our hearts because as a nearby business we are able to monitor the progress of the project and witness the benefits these improvements will have in our community first hand."
