Dig In Day at The Growing Place Garden Center in Aurora

 
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Feb. 12, 2019 - PRLog -- Soon birds will be chirping, bulbs will be blooming and leaves will be budding. Welcome spring on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at The Growing Place Garden Center, located at 2000 Montgomery Rd. in Aurora, 2 blocks north of Ogden Ave/Route 34 and Rush Copley Medical Center.

Talks, tours and special guests throughout the day to help plan for your most colorful gardens yet. At 10:30 am, learn about supporting pollinators in your garden with Jane Grillo of Natural Garden Natives and Midwest Groundcovers. At 12:30 pm, the pros at Proven Winners will show you how to plant a perfect spring container and at 1:30 pm, Certified Arborist, M.D. Skeet of Bartlett Tree Experts in Bolingbrook will share tips for long-lasting trees. Plus Growing Place experts will teach you about vegetable gardening, pruning dos and don'ts, garden combos and more.

Visit with some of The Growing Place's favorite people to work with including Espoma, Proven Winners, Burpee Seeds, Hoffie Nursery, Chicagoland Gardening Magazine, U of I Extension Master Gardeners, and GrowIt!.

Tour their production greenhouses at 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. Grumpy Gaucho Food Truck & Everdine's Grilled Cheese will be on site 11:00 am-3:00 pm. Tool sharpener onsite 11:00 am-4:00pm. Full schedule listed at thegrowingplace.com/calendar. No registration required.
