Ghostface Killah first made a name for himself as part of the hip-hop group, Wu-Tang Clan in 1993 with the hit "Enter The Wu-Tang," which catapulted him into numerous collaborations including Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx." Ghostface released his first solo album, "Ironman," in 1996, which experienced success both in the underground and mainstream, debuting at #2 on the pop charts. His second album, "Supreme Clientele," was listed on VIBE magazine's Top-10 albums of all time and included one of his most popular joints, "Cherchez La Ghost." Ghostface signed with Def Jam Records in 2003 and subsequently released "The Pretty Toney Album," which featured Missy Elliot, Jadakiss, and Jackie-O.
THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND, Saturday, March 16
The Marshall Tucker Band got its start in Spartanburg, S.C. when founding member Doug Gray teamed up with Tommy Caldwell, Paul T. Riddle, George McCorkle, and Jerry Eubanks. In 1972, they signed with Capricorn Records and began opening shows for The Allman Brothers and by 1973 began headlining their own shows with such hits as "Heard It In a Love Song," "Fire On The Mountain," "Can't You See," and "Take The Highway." Today, the "new" band, led by Gray, continues to release new and previously unreleased material. Current members include; drummer B.B. Borden, a former member of both Mother's Finest and The Outlaws; multi-instrumentalist Marcus Henderson; Pat Elwood on bass guitar; and Rick Willis on lead guitar and vocals; Acclaimed lead guitarist and vocalist Chris Hicks recently rejoined the band after a two-year absence. Together, they present a powerful stage presence as they continue to tour the country and continue to be powerful force in the world of music.
