NEEDHAM, Mass. - Feb. 9, 2019 - PRLog -- Medicare is both confusing and frustrating. Mistakes can be costly. The A,B,C's and D's of Medicare workshop, not affiliated or contracted by any insurance company, provides unbiased guidance in navigating the complex Medicare landscape.

The free, objective and educational seminar will be held on Tuesday, February 26 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the education and training center of FirstLight Home Care of West Suburban Boston, 109 – 123 Highland Avenue, Suite 301, Needham, MA  02494 (directly across from Panera Bread and between TD Bank and Petco).

There is ample, free parking both in the front and rear of the office building. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

The workshop will be led by Lori Howell of Howell Medicare Advisors LLC based in Foxboro, MA and serving the Greater Boston Area.

Lori Howell advises, educates, and assists Medicare Beneficiaries on options that best meet their needs; Medicare Parts A and B, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Supplement plans, Medicare Prescription Drug (Part D) plans, Low Income Subsidy (i.e. Extra Help), COBRA, State Pharmaceutical programs (SPAP) and Medicaid.

For the last 10 years, Lori has been assisting individuals and businesses navigate the maze of Medicare rules and options available to Medicare beneficiaries. She initially received her training as a certified SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) Counselor for the State of Massachusetts. In this capacity, Lori learned the importance of having individuals get unbiased assistance in making optimal decisions when enrolling, reviewing and selecting the most appropriate coverage for themselves.

Most recently, Lori worked for Mercer, a national leader in the corporate health benefits space. She advised clients on how to transition from employer plans into the Medicare options that would best meet their needs both medically and financially.

The session will be augmented by Wendy Adlerstein, LSW, who has more than 20 years of experience in working with seniors. She holds a B.A. from Clark University, in Psychology with a concentration in Sociology and Human Services. In addition to her Massachusetts License in Social Work, Wendy holds a Certificate in Gerontology from the Worcester Consortium Gerontology Program.

She is a member of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA), formerly the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Finally, Wendy is a Certified Dementia Practitioner® in good standing from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.

This interactive presentation encourages participants to ask questions and provide their own anecdotes.
