CALGARY, Alberta - Feb. 7, 2019 - PRLog -- Calgary entrepreneurs can now share their successes, challenges and favourite things about living and doing business in Calgary with the launch of Calgary's Podcast, a member of the Canada's Podcast network. Senior business writer and storyteller Mario Toneguzzi and communications entrepreneur Bonnie Elgie will co-host the show.
Calgary's Podcast will publish new episodes weekly starting in February featuring several high-profile Calgary entrepreneurs including:
· Manjit Minhas, Dragon on CBC Dragons' Den and co-founder of Minhas Breweries & Distillery
· Mike Morrison, Blogger on Mike's Bloggity Blog and founder of Social West
· Tony Spoletini, Owner of Spolumbo's Fine Foods and Deli
· Sharon Hapton, Founder and CEO of Soup Sisters and Broth Brothers
Co-founded by Phillip Bliss and Robert Szmigiel, Canada's Podcast is a national organization that creates an active online community for entrepreneurs to stay connected on a local-scale while letting the world know about the incredible journeys Canadian business owners are embarking on. Canada's Podcast aims to highlight major regions and cities across the country while spotlighting trailblazing entrepreneurs who are making a difference in their communities.
"We wanted to create a national platform with carefully selected regional hosts to interview local entrepreneurs so they can provide advice, inspiration, information and share their journey," says Bliss, host of Toronto's Podcast. "We felt a national Canadian podcast would unite all the major cities so we could all learn and connect with each other. I've been fortunate and have had a great experience building companies in this country and we're excited about creating a platform to both promote entrepreneurs and Canadian businesses locally and to the world."
Canada's Podcast currently has shows in Vancouver, Toronto and Nova Scotia with Calgary and Edmonton's shows launching this month and Montreal's to launch in Spring 2019.
Szmigiel, who previously built one of Vancouver's top podcasts, hosts Vancouver's Podcast. "Canada's Podcast is experiencing great interest from local and national sponsors. For example, Shaw Communications recently teamed up as a sponsor. This is a great opportunity for local and national sponsors to meet with their target entrepreneurs."
"Calgary really is a city of mavericks. Its foundation was built on an entrepreneurial spirit forged by a can-do attitude," says Toneguzzi, co-host of Calgary's Podcast. "Calgary's story and history is one built on individuals taking their visions and turning them into reality. We want to tell these stories of success in their own words as they provide inspiration and information for others in the city, Alberta and across the country."
As a firm believer in the power of relationships, connection and collaboration, Elgie is passionate about building this national network of like-minded entrepreneurs. "I am inspired by the hard-working and wildly successful entrepreneurs in Calgary that I've met and worked with over the years. Now, I look forward to sharing their stories in a brand-new way."
Calgary entrepreneurs from any industry are invited to reach out to the show for comments, questions and pitching interview opportunities. Calgary's Podcast welcomes individuals who want to inspire others and provide real-life advice about what it's like to do business in Calgary.
