KSPS Wins National Award for Instructional Media

KSPS Public TV Educational Resources Honored by NETA at Awards Gala

SPOKANE, Wash. - Feb. 1, 2019 - PRLog -- KSPS Public Television has won a national award for educational resources based on its regionally-focused documentaries. The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) presented the award for Instructional Media in the Teacher Resource category Monday to Jason Miller on behalf of KSPS Public television at an annual awards gala.

Miller congratulated KSPS Education Director, Bukola Breczinski, and Gonzaga University interns, Rosemary Colon and Ali Asiri, for their work segmenting KSPS documentaries and creating lesson plans that are now being used by teachers nationwide.

The video-supported lesson plans cover regions like Canada and Washington State, history topics like Native American history and Japanese American Incarceration, and other educational niches like financial literacy, career exploration and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The 2018 NETA Awards were presented at a red-carpet gala event opening the annual NETA Conference on January 21 in Salt Lake City.

The competition, first organized in 1968, honors NETA member stations' achievements in community engagement, promotion, instructional media, and content production.
