B2B Writer Donates 80 Meals Against World Hunger
Socially conscious case study writer donates to the World Food Program, a charity dedicated to ending world hunger.
By: Pro Writing Business
The case study writer donates meals regularly to the World Food Program (WFP), using the ShareTheMeal mobile app. WFP, a not-for-profit organization, delivers food to needy people every day in over 80 developing countries, including areas like Yemen and India.
As at January 27, the writer has donated a total of 81 meals to the WFP, using the mobile app. 18 meals were donated through the ProWriting team on the app, and the rest donated to various groups hand picked by the writer herself.
50 Cents to Feed a Child
The ShareTheMeal app is a WFP initiative, and is the first mobile application ever built to fight hunger. To date, over 29 million meals have been shared through the app.
According to the WFP, it only costs US $0.50 to feed a child each day. With over 800 million undernourished people around the world, their goal is to eradicate world hunger - an entirely solvable problem in our generation.
"Food is a basic human right. That we still have people starving in this day and age is unbelievable. And heartbreaking"
10,000 More Meals
For 2019, Pro Writing seeks to donate 10,000 meals through a combination of team expansion and profits from the writing business.
The team functionality allows multiple users to donate on behalf of one team, without having to install the app.
Bethany had this to say, "I am thrilled to have discovered the ShareTheMeal app. It makes donating to the needy super simple - literally at the touch of a button. And their transparency is refreshing. As far as I'm concerned, the developers did their part, and now it's our turn. Only 50 cents to feed a child."
