SWANSEA, Mass. - Jan. 22, 2019 - PRLog -- Two local women are joining together to bring high-quality in-home care services to the region they call home with their new business, Home Helpers of Bristol County, MA.

Home Helpers is the nation's leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Home Helpers of Bristol County also offers Direct Link, its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor with GPS locator and an automated medication dispenser. Home Helpers of Bristol County serves Swansea, Seekonk, Somerset, Dighton, North Dighton, Freetown, Berkley, Fall River and the surrounding communities.

Home Helpers of Bristol County offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person's individual needs. Services offered include personal care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation. Home Helpers of Bristol County also offers free in-home care assessments and in-home safety inspections.

Claver-Baldwin was a caregiver to her late husband while he suffered from COPD and Emphysema. She managed a healthcare training program in Hawaii for 15 years while also working as the Operations Manager for a home care agency. She saw the importance of caregivers and the need in the community. After relocating to live with family in Massachusetts, she decided to bring her passion to fruition in Bristol County and, after much research, she decided that Home Helpers would be the best fit for her and for the community, and she brought her future daughter-in-law, Olivia Castro, on board as her General Manager.

"Home Helpers is a leader in the in-home care field and the franchise system gives me the opportunity to hit the ground running immediately with the support of a national team. I'm looking forward to offering people in this community the kind of care I'd expect for my own loved ones. None of us know what the future brings and I want to know that the people in our community can turn to Home Helpers as their needs change," Claver-Baldwin said.

Castro has always wanted to be involved in the medical field and she understands the value of being able to receive care at home. Her brother-in-law passed away due to heart failure at a very young age – his last days were spent in a hospice facility – and her great-grandmother was in a nursing home for many years and passed at 102 years old.

"I know there was nothing that they wanted more, than to be in the comfort of their own homes with family by their side. When I was presented with the opportunity to help people by working in in-home care, it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I have a passion for helping people and I knew immediately that this is exactly what I am meant to do with my life," Castro said.

Home Helpers specializes in helping families care for their loved ones so they can focus on spending quality time together – not just being full-time caregivers. Home Helpers' full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety and comfort of wherever they call home. For Claver-Baldwin and Castro, it's about treating their clients as members of their own extended family.

"We are both part of a culture where we take care of our loved ones as they get older and whenever they need help. That's part of our roots. We want our clients to feel like they are part of our extended family too. Our caregivers and office personnel are exceptional and, if you ever need anything, we are local and just one call away," Claver-Baldwin said.
