Over the past 5 years, the Junior League Board of Directors has worked tirelessly to usher its historical mission deeper into the 21st century, making the decision to sell The Bright Shawl, using assets to broaden services and access to resources for members who now boasts higher positions, larger community responsibilities, and more diverse backgrounds. The current Board is excited to introduce a new fundraiser for JLSA with the inaugural Unstoppable:
"We continue to volunteer with and provide financial support to over 60 nonprofit community partners every year, and we are more than 1,000 members strong." President Joy McGaugh says of the organizations consistent giving nature. "Our mission remains the same. How we fund that mission will change and evolve over time. Don't call it a comeback – we've been here for 95 years. And we have no plans to slow down now."
The Junior League of San Antonio will continue to host annual staple events -

• ¡VIVA! SA Race (https://www.jlsa.org/
• Funding Arts & Music Education Awards (https://www.jlsa.org/
This year, the Junior League of San Antonio will embark on a 5-year Signature Project focusing on children's mental wellness. In partnership with Clarity Child Guidance Center, the League's all-women volunteers will work to create curriculum teaching children in San Antonio the importance of caring for their mental health.
Twenty esteemed community members and non-members will champion fundraising for the Signature Project.
"To select these trailblazing fundraising advocates, JLSA approached community supporters and League members who we thought could make a compelling case for supporting this exciting new initiative. We had no trouble finding 20 people who responded enthusiastically to our offer because of their belief in the mission and power of JLSA volunteers and the incredible impact this project promises to make in Bexar County and beyond." President Joy McGaugh.
In the midst of an evolving nonprofit landscape, JLSA is well-positioned to continue to thrive for the next 95 years and beyond.
