GRAYS, U.K. - Jan. 17, 2019 - PRLog -- Sovereign Home Improvements is now an official supplier of the Guardian Warm Roof System for conservatories in Essex. Guardian Warm Roof won an award at the 44th National Home Improvement Council Annual Awards 2018 in the category "Delivering Community Benefit Through Home Improvement" at the ceremony in London on November 22nd 2018.

In addition, it was the UK's first solid conservatory roof system with Local Authority Building Control (LABC) and LABSS (Local Authority Building Standards Scotland) approval.

The Guardian Warm Roof offers enhanced thermal qualities that converts a conservatory into a space that can be used daily, all year round – irrespective of seasonal temperature variations.

Conservatories boomed in the 1980's as a cheap way to add an extra room, but they were mostly built of uPVC and were chilly in the winter and far too hot in the summer. Then came the 2008 recession, and sales went through the floor, but today they are becoming more popular again with some better designs and a better choice of materials. People are opting for aluminium as opposed to uPVC. There is also a wide choice of different colours of material available, so your conservatory doesn't have to be white.

Conservatories date back as far as the early 1600's when orangeries were built to grow tropical fruits and plants, as a symbol of social standing, and were popular for entertaining and showing off your rare collection of plants and exotic blooms. Queen Anne had one built at Kensington Palace in 1704 to protect her citrus trees.

With the Guardian Warm Roof, the conservatory today can be used all year round, as it keeps the space warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. It can also be fitted retrospectively, in just a few days.

However, there are still a lot of cheap plastic conservatories in the marketplace, but the tendency is that people are looking for higher quality aluminium as customers become choosier about design. In future, it seems that conservatories will become part of overall home design and not just added years later

Furthermore with stamp duty increases, and the problems in getting planning permission for basement extensions – particularly in London – people are looking for other ways to add extra space, and a conservatory can be the ideal solution. If made with good quality materials such as an oak frame, it can add significant value to a home.

About the Company:  Sovereign Home Improvements can construct orangeries and conservatories in Essex in a wide choice of materials and designs. They can have a traditional glass roof or can now be fitted with the Guardian Warm Roof which can be constructed using a choice of different tile colours.
