| ![]() New Continuing Education Course Offered for California Registered Environment Health SpecialistsTraining on how to inspect a body art shop now available for California registered environmental health specialists.
This course is designed to help environmental health specialists conduct body art shop inspections by covering the policies and procedures body artists should be using to protect themselves and their clients against infection and disease. Even though EHS100 is written for California environmental health specialists, health inspectors from other states who want to learn about body safety will find this course to be helpful and informative. The course is arranged into the following modules: • Module 1 – Cal/OSHA and the Safe Body Art Act • Module 2 – Pathogens and Communicable Diseases • Module 3 – Chain of Infection • Module 4 – Exposure Control Plans • Module 5 – Methods of Compliance "Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control for Environmental Health Professionals" Three contact hours of continuing education will be awarded by Your Training Place, LLC, the California Department of Public Health Continuing Education Accreditation Agency that has approved Body Art Training Group as a Registered Provider. Since 2008, Body Art Training Group, has offered on-site and online bloodborne pathogens training for body art professionals.and health inspectors. These courses provide training as required by OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030 and as required by various state departments of health.
