United Premier Soccer League Announces FF Premier as Central Conference League One Expansion Team
Founded in 2014, Dallas (Tex.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL
Based in Dallas (Tex.), FF Premier will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference League One and is finalizing its venue options in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.
United Premier Soccer League Central Conference Manager Matt Kahla said, "The Footy Factory has built a name for itself in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and we think FF Premier will be a tremendous addition to the Central Conference. Sean Afkhaminia has created a special training community, and he's the perfect candidate to operate his own club. We've seen first-hand his expertise in the game, and we're excited for him to bring FF Premier into the UPSL."
Sean Afkhaminia is CEO and Technical Director of Footy Factory. A native of Dallas (Tex.), Afkhaminia, 27, played collegiate soccer at West Texas A&M (NCAA) before graduating with a BA in 2013.
CEO and Technical Director Sean Afkhaminia said, "Footy Factory is an institution who's core mission is to provide a platform for players of all socio-economic backgrounds to develop and rise to the highest level they're able to achieve. We're building that culture through our organizational structure and training methodology. Paving a path to first-team football is a piece of the puzzle that's always been part of our strategic plan. The proliferation of the UPSL has given us an opportunity to put that plan in place maybe a bit sooner than we originally anticipated, and we're definitely excited for the challenge!"
Footy Factory has operated a youth academy and men's amateur team, which was the 2014 winner of the North Texas Premier Soccer Association's second division, and has twice been a playoff semifinalist in the league's competitive top flight since then, as well as a semi-finalist in the prestigious Budweiser Cup in 2017.
Footy Factory features camps, leagues, tournaments, training programs, and competitive teams for both boys and girls, drawing several hundred players year-round, ages 4-22, from the surrounding area.
The club intends to host tryouts, and will soon announce dates and its game schedule.
