Twenty-four Edwardian sterling silver plates. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. There are 12 dinner plates and 12 bread & butter plates.

Each: Plain circular well and four curved sides with double-scroll corners. Chased and engraved ornament: Fluid leaf set in scrolling-leaf frame alternating with quatrefoil leaf over stippled lunettes. Rosette-inset guilloche rim. Engraved armorial with Latin motto "Patriis virtutibus" (that is, "By hereditary virtures"). A suitably aristocratic sentiment for such a sumptuous set.

Hallmarks include director's letter m (1907-47) and pattern no. 19302A (dinner) and 19300A (bread & butter). Both patterns first produced in 1916. Excellent condition.

Dimensions: Dinner: H 1/2 x W 10 7/8 x D 10 7/8 in. Butter: H 1/4 x W 6 1/8 x D 6 1/8 in. Very heavy total weight: 352 troy ounces.
