The Morning of the End Of Timeless, Marshall Barnes Announces: The Cusp of Real Time Travel Is Here!
It appears to be a classic clash between reality and fantasy - science fiction and the cutting edge of science tech. As usual, if it's between NBC's Timeless and famed R&D engineer Marshall Barnes, Marshall WINS!

"I'm frankly surprised that this has happened this way," Marshall admitted. "I always felt that I would have some time travel related event to coincide with the end of the show but I didn't expect to be able to make an announcement like this".
Marshall had been working fast and furious on his research since getting some funding beginning in the late spring. He has said exactly how much but that it's more than Ronald Mallett has last admitted to. Mallett is the University of Connecticut physics professor famous for saying he was going to build a time machine and as of yet, has accomplished none of what he's been promoted for by the media. Fraud is a subject not too far from that concerning the relationship between Marshall and Timeless. Originally a big supporter of the program, the relationship has descended to the point where Marshall is the show's most hated fan, spurred in part by show actor Malcolm Barrett, who Marshall caught lying on the Only Stupid Questions podcast about his own personal knowledge of time travel physics. Malcolm began to spread lies about Marshall in retaliation, instead of manning up to the debate challenge that Marshall made. Show co-creator, Shawn Ryan, had already dissed time travel science fans by saying that there was no such thing while simultaneously, the show was violating known laws of causality within time travel physics, left and right.
Eventually, Marshall declared that Timeless didn't matter when we are so close to real time travel that a reality show could be made about it. He proposed a program called Zeitnauts which would have time travel fans exploring sites known for events like time slips, using equipment derived from speculations on Nikola Tesla's ideas on intelligent light. However, the show has been put on hold as Marshall's research has escalated to the point that was its most logical conclusion - time travel to the past for real, something he has blogged about on Quora.com.
In the meantime, Marshall has a prediction about tonight's show which he says features one of the biggest face palm events in time travel sci fi.
"When the time machine comes back with a Lucy and Matt from the future, asking the current members if they want to go save Rufus, it just proved the total and complete stupidity of the writers. Why are members from the future going back in time to the past AFTER Rufus has been killed, yapping about saving him when they could just do it themselves?!"
"This big event won't make a big ratings splash. They won't beat their highest ratings so far because in last season's ratings they drove people away on all but 2 shows. Timeless is a ratings disaster and guess what? THAT"s WHY IT's CANCELED!"
