LDJ Capital Chairman David Drake presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dolph Lundgren on the SMASH VIII event together with BQT.io's CEO Edward Mandel. Recently, David Drake is seen as a thought leader in the fintech, blockchain, and cryptocurrency industry. Drake was part of the early movers who lobbied for the US JOBS Act (Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act) and because of this pioneering work he was invited by then President Obama at the White House for the Champions of Change celebration in 2013. He was also an invited speaker at the UK Parliament in the same year for the 1st National Crowdfunding day. The MMA main event was for the Bantamweight Championship Title bout between Flavio Carvalho and Jordan Winski, replacing Joash Walkins who won't be able to join the fight.
Former SMASH ICON Awardees include the iconic actors and directors Mel Gibson and Steven Seagal, boxing coach extraordinaire Freddie Roach, and MMA legends Tito Ortiz and Chuck "The Iceman" Lidell.
