Is Black Friday REALLY the best time to get good deals? Sales Ambassadors UK reveal the real deals
By: Sales Ambassadors UK
Most of the population will have witnessed the madness that has taken place on previous Black Fridays across the UK, with fights breaking out, customers being trampled on in a race for a 'cheap' TV, but what makes customers do this? Zin Gobi, administrator at Sales Ambassadors UK gives her take "Every day it feels like everything around us is getting more and more expensive, a TV costing £800 would have been shocking a decade ago, but now you can purchase a TV for anything between £500 and £7000 pounds, when retailers tell you that you can get a £2000 television for half the price, people want to save as much money as they can, especially close to Christmas, can get a bit over excited, or as in some of the news, aggressive".
Just because the retailers state that an item is 50% off, does it mean you are really making a saving? Recent studies, and price trackers actually found that 87% of items came down in price after Black Friday, meaning customers weren't really getting a great deal at all. "Which? Tracked prices for 6 months before and after Black Friday last year, and out of 94 a huge amount where cheaper, like a TV that was advertised for £799 during the Black Friday sales, was £150 cheaper a month later. As a business, at Sales Ambassadors UK, we are very transparent, open and honest, in fact we pride ourselves on that, seeing trackers like this does make you feel like retailers are taking advantage of customers and that simply isn't fair" stated Matthew Galang, Client Manager at Sales Ambassadors UK, London.
With many trackers showing patience is key, and waiting a month or two after Black Friday you will actually save even more money, are the any real deals to be had on Black Friday? "Of course, looking at studies and reviews, like from Trusted Reviews, it was found that products such as the Dyson V6 animal wireless vacuum cleaner went down by 45%, to its lowest price ever of £179.99 on Black Friday last year, and of course there are many other products like this on Black Friday. The key is a good price tracker, and sometimes a little risk to go for a deal you feel is great. You may find it cheaper a few months later, but that is just what happens as a product ages anyway, and sadly we weren't all fitted with a crystal ball to see those kinds of things" joked Zin Gobi, administrator in London of Sales Ambassadors UK.
There you have it, as Sales Ambassadors UK have explained, with good preparation and research you can get great deals on Black Friday, however be aware that not every deal is as good as it seems and a little patience until Christmas or the new year you could in fact save hundreds more.
