-- Royse Contemporary welcomes multi-media artist Cherie Buck-Hutchison and oil painter Cam DeCaussin to its stable of diverse artists. There current roster includes: Angel Cabrales, Charmagne Coe, Daniel Shepherd and Marilyn Szabo. Curator/ Owner, Nicole Royse is excited to further work with Buck-Hutchison and DeCaussin and she is looking forward to including them in the upcoming 2019 season. Royse provides her artists with extensive services including art sales, public relations, social media exposure, curation of exhibitions and expansion of their collector base. Their roster highlights work in a variety of mediums and have extensive resumes that include numerous exhibitions at prestigious galleries and museums around the country.
Cherie Buck-Hutchison is a mixed media artist creating digitally composited photos manipulated to create meaning relevant to contemporary issues. She revisits her personal history "to divine a feminine narrative within patriarchal religious practices while juxtaposing dual imagery with the intent to create a space for female religious leadership where currently there may be none. She traditionally trained in the arts, receiving her Bachelors of Fine Art in Intermedia from Arizona State University. She has exhibited her artwork in both solo and group exhibitions throughout Arizona at various galleries including Eye Lounge, Vision Gallery, the monOrchid, ASU Night Gallery, ASU Step Gallery, The Shemer Art Center, and the Phoenix Art Museum. Buck-Hutchison currently resides in Phoenix with her family.
Cam DeCaussin is a skilled oil painter with a keen eye for detail with an incredible ability to capture such energy and mystery within his subjects. His work has been greatly influenced by the work of painter Edward Hopper and photographer Gregory Crewdson, whose work share similar themes. He received his Bachelor's of Fine Art in Illustration from Grand Valley State University, moving to Arizona where he received his Masters Fine Art in Painting and Drawing from Arizona State University. His work has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions including: AZ Biennial Tucson Museum of Art, Chandler Center for the Arts Gallery, Mesa Contemporary Art Museum and Renmin University. DeCaussin currently resides in Phoenix and is an Adjunct Faculty at both Arizona State University and Estrella Mountain Community College.
Royse Contemporary is located in the Marshall Square complex at 7077 E. Main Street, Suite 6, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 (located on the south side of Main Street just west of Marshall Way). Royse Contemporary's new fall hours are Tuesday/Friday 9:30-1:30pm, Thursday 7-9pm, Saturday 12-4pm, or by Appointment.
