"The top of the list surprised me: applesauce, canned beans, and canned chicken. Not things you would consider part of a 'Holiday' meal, but it is what our neighbors really need."
Ending out the list were 3 things to avoid: Junk Food, Items with glass or cellophane packaging, and things that need can openers. "I didn't even consider a pop top can over one that requires kitchen tools, but when you have very little these small details matter the most," stated Jamie, a campaign manager. "Growing up our family would deliver meals during the holidays, but to now be part of an organization that values community involvement as an adult is a major plus."
