2019 Winter Classes and Workshops at The Center for Contemporary Art

BEDMINSTER, N.J. - Dec. 11, 2018 - PRLog -- The Center for Contemporary Art is excited to announce its winter schedule of art classes and workshops which begins January 7th and runs through March. There are forty classes and workshops for adults and fourteen classes for children ages five through teens. Classes are offered for artists with all levels of expertise in a variety of media including oil and acrylic paint, pastel, gouache, watercolor, drawing, photography, and ceramics.

New classes this winter include "Printmaking Without a Press" with Alice Harrison. Students will learn how to produce monotypes, collographs, stamping, and block printing while using a variety of plates to print on several types of paper. "Creative Exploration" with Martha McDonald will allow students to explore different mediums and encourage experimentation and play. Mediums include dry pastel, painting, drawing, ceramics and sculpture. "Smartphone Photography" with Adam Polinger will show students how to use essential controls on their phone along with the best free and low-cost tools for editing and image arrangement. Winter art workshops provide special one-day opportunities for local artists and include "Beginner Watercolor," "Color Exploration," "Abstract Art," "Psyansky – Polish Egg Painting," and "Intro to Acrylics."

The Center's unique curriculum of children's art classes allows young artists to enroll in either overview classes that explore a broad range of media and techniques, or in-depth classes designed to deepen and develop skills in a single medium. Classes are offered Monday evenings for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special needs beginning January 14th.
