Follow on Google News | GCF: Granny Clause Foundation is the greatest common factor for gifts this holiday seasonGranny Clause Foundation strikes again with love and kindness for South Los Angeles Schools
By: The Granny Clause Foundation Holidays can be a burden to parents who are struggling financially or are out of work. The children suffer especially if the choice for gift buying is between paying a vital bill such as the lights or a gift for the children. With this thought in mind, Ms. Cheryl Baker created The Granny Clause Foundation. Cheryl saw a need in elementary schools in the area. With her community mindset and family support she purchases gifts for each child in selected schools. Planning and distribution is done in conjunction with local officials in the area like LAPD, LAUSD and College Bridge Academy in Inglewood California. This has become a family tradition that includes immediate family members who just happen to be pillars of the community serving as elves to assist Ms. Baker. She's not alone in her quest to give children a Christmas they deserve. The mission of the foundation is to "Ensure that undeserved and underrepresented community children are shown the power of love, compassion and service through the vehicle of gift giving." Each year, Ms. Baker oversees the giving to deserving students with the assistance of teachers and principals who identify deserving students to attend the celebration annually. Local elementary schools where students still believe in Santa Clause are the focus once a year for giving. This year's distribution of giving will take place at two Elementary schools, 59th Street Elementary School and Windsor Hills Elementary. School distribution date and times: Date: December 11, 2018 Time: 8am-12pm PST 59th Street Elementary,5939 2nd Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90043 Date: December 14, 2018 Time: 8am-12pm PST Windsor Hills Elementary, 5215 Overdale Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90043 All volunteers and press are welcome for handing out gifts and interviewing local officials and the founder of Granny Clause Foundation.
