Kay Green Design Wins Two Silver Awards
The Nationals represent the best in home design, sales and marketing
NAHB's National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) has announced Silver Award Winners for The Nationals awards.
Kay Green Design received Silver Award honors for "Best Interior Merchandising of a Model priced $500,000 to $700,000" and "Best Single Family Detached Model Home 2,000 to 2,500 SF" for the Magnolia Model in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Magnolia project represents Birmingham, Alabama's first Southern Living Inspired Home. One of only 14 handpicked custom homes in partnership with Southern Living Magazine. The model exemplifies the iconic "Southern Living Style" through gracious Low Country Craftsman inspired architecture, and thoughtful interior design plan.
Designed for a move-up buyer, the floorplan offers a flexible 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath home with an open living area, gourmet kitchen, handsome study, and an upstairs loft. Southern charm is illustrated throughout the design – from grand two-story shiplap entry, to unique open kitchen layout with cleverly boxed-out windows for storage & display.
Adding value for the attainable square footage, are features that are usually found in larger custom homes, such as; the spacious great room, made for entertaining, featuring French doors leading to the wrap-around porch, and framing both sides of the fireplace. The ample dining area which introduces a dramatic, beehive-inspired pattern, inset in a coffered ceiling with custom craftsman-style molding. Last, the master bathroom features an on-trend luxury statement - where the tub is placed inside the glass paneled shower.
A palette of soft neutrals, creamy whites, and hints of cheerful blue further enhance an interior that lives much larger than the 2462 interior square footage.
The Nationals salutes and honors the best in the building industry for their determination, integrity, creativity and endurance.
Silver Award Winners are the top vote recipients in each category and are the finalists for the Gold Award. Gold Awards in each category will be presented as part of the International Builders' Show, the awards ceremony on February 19, 2019 at Caesars Palace Las Vegas and is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees.
"The Nationals are the most prestigious awards of their kind, setting the benchmark for innovations in new home design, marketing and sales," said Kelly Fink, chairperson of the Nationals. "NAHB's commitment to recognizing originality, imagination and success has been exemplified by its award winners since the competition's inception."
Started in 1982 as the Institute of Residential Marketing, The Nationals award program continues to recognize superior new home sales and marketing achievements.
With 61 categories across various disciplines of the new home industry, the awards honor excellence in product and community design, advertising, marketing and sales achievements by individuals and sales teams.
