School Business Professionals Earn ASBO International Certification

ASHBURN, Va. - Dec. 10, 2018 - PRLog -- The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is pleased to recognize the 395 school business officials who have earned ASBO International's Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations^® (SFO^®) certification, demonstrating their dedication to effective school business management.

The SFO designation is granted to highly qualified school business professionals who demonstrate eligibility through work experience and education; pass a comprehensive exam that tests competency in accounting and school business management topics such as human resources, risk management, and facility management; and adhere to the ASBO International Certification Code of Conduct.

The certification program was established in 2010 to elevate the status of the school business management profession. "By earning their SFO, these school business professionals have met the highest professional standards, demonstrated their knowledge of school business, and proven their dedication to effective school business management," ASBO International Director of Certification Allison Barton-Kramer says.

To maintain their credential, certificants must recertify every three years. Recertification demonstrates school business officials' commitment to staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and ensures they maintain their professional competency by keeping their knowledge current.

"Having a certified school business official in the school or district builds public confidence in the organization's fiscal responsibility, accountability, and transparency," Barton-Kramer says. "Taxpayers can be confident that educational resources are being used to support student success."
