Avanti Hospitals Donates Over 150 Turkeys to Those in NeedBy: Avanti Hospitals EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Dec. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- Avanti Hospitals, including Memorial Hospital of Gardena (MHG), East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital (ELA) and Community Hospital of Huntington Park (CHHP) have donated more than 150 turkeys through local charities and community programs this holiday season.
For the fifth year, Avanti and its hospitals provided all employees with a free Thanksgiving turkey and the option of donating it to those in need this holiday season. An incredible 160 birds were generously given this Thanksgiving with the hope of helping the community and providing some holiday cheer. "The holidays can be a trying time for many members of our community," said Joel Bergenfeld, Chief Executive Officer. "I am proud to work with such a caring staff that is so dedicated to providing for our neighbors, and also honored to partner with so many wonderful organizations near our hospitals." Eighty turkeys were donated through the Helping Hands program and the city of Gardena, fifteen through the Angeles Medical Clinic, twenty through the Midnight Mission in LA, twenty-five through Ruben F. Salazar Park and twenty through Southeast Churches Service Center. Many of these organizations are now accepting toy donations for the upcoming holiday season, and we will continue to support their many efforts.
