LOS ANGELES - Dec. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- Toonstar, the digital animation network that creates and distributes daily pop culture cartoons for an "always on" world, has partnered with UWish to debut the new series "Back in the Holidayz" on December 6th, which is a show created by UWish founder Baron Davis.  The interview series features fellow NBA stars including Baron Davis, Kevin Garnett, Chris Paul, Stephen Jackson and Chamillionaire  as 'toon'ed' reindeer who share their favorite holiday memories, demonstrating the multicultural storytelling woven into the mission of UWish's Black Santa hero character.

"I'm excited to partner with Toonstar. They are a great young company in digital and animation. Toonstar fits within our UWish ecosystem as a strategic partner and we look to build a lot of innovative content now and the near future," said Baron Davis.

Earlier this week, Toonstar debuted new episodes of the animated series Danogs and the pop culture animated series JellyMemes on Snapchat Discover.  These original character series have a highly engaged fanbase of teens and young adults and have helped propel the Toonstar network to garner over 70 million views per month across its platforms.

"We're really excited about the rapid growth of our network and the reaction we're getting from fans of our pop culture cartoons and original character series like the Danogs.  And we're stoked about working with amazing partners like Baron and Snapchat Discover to bring new stories and characters to life using our proprietary animation tech," said John Attanasio, CEO + Co-Founder of Toonstar.

On the heels of joining Snap Inc.'s Yellow Accelerator program, Toonstar also announced it has closed a round of funding led by Cyan Banister of Founders Fund.  Other participants included Snap Inc, Baron Davis, Terry Dougas and Liquid2 as well as all previous investors Manta Ray, Jon Goldman's GC VR Gaming Tracker Fund, Science Inc. and Social Starts.
