SAN DIEGO - Dec. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Today, Qubitekk announced that its Quantum Dataloc™Server has been selected as a winner at CONNECT's Most Innovative New Product Awards. CONNECT, a premier innovation company accelerator in San Diego that creates and scales great companies in the technology and life sciences sectors, continues its thirty-one year tradition of celebrating innovation leaders in the local San Diego community.

Qubitekk's Quantum DataLoc™ Key Server comprises two Transceivers that generate and distribute secure cryptographic keys for Industrial Control System networks.

The Quantum DataLoc™ Key Server uses quantum physics to generate truly random symmetric keys that cannot be cracked by any computer. Quantum entangled photons, shared over optical fiber, are used with a quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol to guarantee 100% secure distribution.

"Industrial Control System operators have many challenges they must deal with every day. Managing cryptographic keys shouldn't be one of them," said Dr. Duncan Earl, a former researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory who is President and Chief Technology Officer of Qubitekk. "Unlike traditional solutions, like PKI, that can introduce complexity and latency, the Quantum DataLoc™ Key Server is a hardware solution that introduces zero latency, is self-managing, and will not impact operations."

"It's an honor for Qubitekk to be selected as a winner for Connect's most innovative New Product Award," Corey McClelland, VP of Business Development added. "Connect has made innovations coming out of San Diego more visible. High Tech doesn't have to come out of the Bay Area to be successful."

Qubitekk was awarded in the Innovation Communication Technology and Software category at the annual awards event held on Thursday, November 29th, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. Winners were selected in the following seven categories: Aerospace, Robotics, and Transportation; Cleantech, Sustainability, and Energy; Defense and Cybersecurity; Information Communication Technologies and Software; Life Science Diagnostics; Life Science Products (Clinical Stage) and Pharmaceuticals; Life Science Research Tools and Medical Devices.
