ATLANTA - Dec. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- With an increased number of non-English speaking parents in schools creating a language barrier between parents and Educators IBIS Solutions, Inc. prepares to launch IBIS Chat Virtual Parent Teacher Conference.

IBIS Chat will be available to Educators across the country in 2019 and has been well received by educators with early access to the platform. IBIS Chat offers real-time speech transcription and translation in 40+ languages, in addition to video. IBIS Chat places a true focus on creating an environment conducive to meaningful multi-lingual communication and family engagement efforts. Parents can virtually meet teachers, view classrooms, and review student material.

According to the National Education Association, parent and family engagement supports learning, higher student achievement, and student attendance across family income and educational levels. Knowing that an increase in parent and family engagement is a critical part of student success, US schools are excited for the ability to leverage IBIS Chat to increase parent involvement and foster a culture where parents and families are encouraged and have an opportunity to participate.

IBIS Solutions president and co-founder Christopher Lee says, "Parent and Family support is critical for the development and success of students at all levels, however, the ways parents are able to get involved often involves travel, time, and financial resources which are in limited supply. These constraints effect all parents; however, the hurdle is even greater for parents that do not speak English."

According to Pew Research there are more than 20 million US born children of immigrants and according to the Census Bureau data, one in four public school students now speaks a language other than English at home. In California it is 44%, and in Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, and Nevada roughly one in three school-age children speaks a foreign language at home.
